Uganda 2008

On the 20th July 2008 five people from Sunnyhill Community Church are setting out on an awesome, challenging and God-Driven Mission to Uganda for 12 days. They will be working alongside Pastor Martin Nangoli of Wake Up Ministries Uganda, who works out of The Redeemed of the Lord Evangelical Church, Muluku, Mbale, Uganda. Uganda is situated in East Africa on the source of the River Nile, and although a very fertile country in terms of crops, the abject poverty and hunger for the gospel is rife. Wake Up Ministries was started by Martin Nangoli in 2005 and works in the East of Uganda, specifcally in the foothills of stunning Mount Elgon on the Kenyan Border.

Pastor Brian Campbell, Pastor Dominc Bird, Jess Workman, Scott Jones and Matt Mellor will be spending the 12 days, £5500 and all their energy serving the people of Uganda, bringing the gospel to those who haven't heard it, and God's love to everyone they meet. Their largest task will be teaching a two day pastor's conference which is expected to be attended by over 200 pastors. Other activities will include :

Prison Visiting - Taking food and the gospel to Prisoners
Hospital Visiting - Praying with patients
Kids Club
Football Tournament - The gospel will be preached to hundreds of people
Visiting an HIV/AIDS Clinic - praying with those with no natural hope
School Assembly

This mission is going to be an awesome undertaking, please pray for Brian, Dom, Jess, Scott and Matt and they seek to bring the gospel the light of Christ to another nation. If you would like to support us financially then any gift would be gratefully received, please contact the church office, the following list shows how a little amount can do a lot:
